It is critical that you take the time to research the market extensively. If you want to make money online, you have to know your market and which direction they are heading. Since the internet changes constantly, research will allow you to know what people are looking for.
2. Not promoting the business
50% of your work time should be devoted to promoting your business. It is impossible to make money on the internet if you have no traffic flow whatsoever. It really does not matter how you market your business just as long as it is generating traffic for you and your site.
3. Poor time management
Time management is one of the most difficult things for many that are new to the internet. You are given a lot of freedom that is not available with other professions. It is up to you to use your time wisely and get your work done.
4. Customer service
Despite the fact that you probably will not ever see any of your customers or talk to them, it is vital that you take the time to contact all of your customers immediately. After every sale you make, you should send an email or have an automatic email sent out immediately. Quality customer service can make you a lot of money on the internet because after all, it is the customers that are making you rich.
5. Spending too much
In order to make money on the internet, you cannot spend it all away right in the beginning. It can become expensive depending on the business you are starting up, but there are a lot of expenses you can get around. Until you have a steady income coming in, manage your budget carefully.
6. Passivity
There is no room for passivity on the internet. There are millions of people online and thousands of competitors. To ensure that people come to you over your competitors, you have to be aggressive and confident with all of the moves you make.
While I did mention that it is fairly easy to fail above, you also have to be confident and know that you will succeed. Avoiding these things will help you make money on the internet and set you up for success.
