Like many of you who are starting a home based business, I am not able to quit my full time job yet. So how do you manage your time in order to fit in family time, exercising (if you do that), meals and possibly work that you have to bring home? Before I get started on some tips that I have, please feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you do to organize.
POST-IT NOTES! No kidding. Get the extra sticky ones and post 3 or 4 things that you want to do that day. Do not write out more than you can handle in a day. You can have a notebook for goals for the week, but post 3 or 4 things on your computer that you can handle in a day.
DESIGNATE a block of time where you can
either write an article, find free advertising or reading about something you don’t know enough about. Choose an exact time and try to stick to it. Choose one day to solely post on forums. Choose another to read blogs about business and get great article ideas. The key is that you have one hour (or more if you can) that is designated for you and your home business each day.
WORK ON THE WEEKEND I understand that is a group of bad words strung together for many people. Try to wake up a little earlier and spend two hours in the morning to do a little more. Remember you are starting a home business and you have to give it your all in order to get it running and especially noticed! Yes, you do have to make some compromises.
LESS TV I totally understand that we all need time for relaxation. I have personally made a pact with myself to guarantee that I have two hours a day to work on this business and I don’t turn on the television until I’ve done that. Once I’ve accomplished my goals, then I can actually relax and I know I’ve done what I am supposed to do.
So here are some ways that I have personally been able to fit in promoting and growing my home business that are currently working for me. I am a math teacher and I also have to bring work home. But I find there are some things that you must do in order to make a success out of your home business and these are steps I am more than willing to take.
Good luck to all you.
