Team Up With The Right People…Or Not
Filed Under Home Business | Posted on August 4, 2009
Wow once again! I haven’t been posting….I know….I just need to be inspired. I realize I am sounding like a writer or something (which I am not) but I really do need to be inspired to write these days. Sure, I’m inspired daily by the sun that wakes me up every morning because my apartment faces the beach, I am inspired by the fisherman who are out there earlier than I am and catching fish in the early AM (a little bummed when I see a shark on the line though) and inspired by the beauty of my surroundings. I usually wake up with a huge smile on my face when I look out the window but that is not realistic for everyone. Hell….I never thought it would be realistic for me.
But it is. There are so many reasons why but that is not the purpose of this post. I have learned so much since I have been doing network marketing and investing and met so many truly good people…..OK and some really shitty ones as well but they are not worth writing about…at least not in this post.
I want to write about joining a good team and finding good people to work with. Guess what…I found some. Now that I have been doing this online stuff now for a couple of years, I have finally found who are the people you can trust and not trust. When you find the good people you have to hang on and work it. Do you know what I mean? I mean really work it and give it your all.
Show them who you are and how you are valuable. Be someone people can trust, be honest and they will see it.
OK….now after all the preaching….I found a program and a partner to work with. My friend Mike and I have teamed up to promote and work with a great team of people in the Joint Venture Group (JVG). Please check out the website here. Please do not sign up here…..just check out the program.
Mike and I are so motivated about the vision of this program and the “no-hype” reality of it all. Its just a one time payment and a long term income. It is absolutely not a fad and that is the best part. When you see real business people who are down to earth and have a real vision for the future who are not promising thousands in a few months….well these days that is pretty inspiring.
I am sincerely inspired. To some of you who have been reading here, I have definitely had my ups and downs. I’ve made some mistakes but also have had lots of rewards. The one thing I can say with confidence is that anyone who has followed me has stayed loyal. Why would that be if I have made these mistakes?
I’ve thought about it a lot and its because I truly care and have strived to make decent decisions and have learned a lot in the process. It also helps that I have formed some real friendships along the way too….I’ve been decent and just and truly do work hard to help people build their own businesses.
I mean seriously…….isn’t that what a team is all about!!!
Please check out JVG here and let me know what you think!
Home Business Joint Venture GroupSome People Just Get It…And Others Do Not
Filed Under Home Business | Posted on June 24, 2009
I’m going generic today as I write this. I mean this doesn’t just pertain to business at all in fact it goes way deeper than that. There are people who just get it and others who don’t. It’s really simple and if you are one of the few who really get it then it translates to business relations as well as personal, as it does for people who don’t.
So what is there to get? Okay, I’ll give you my definition of people who get it….or what getting it actually is. If you get it you know how to treat people with respect. I realize that sounds so simple but it totally is not. In business it pertains to returning calls and emails in a timely manner, being honest with your constituencyand giving people your time and letting them know that you can be trusted. People who get it can be and always want to be honest with people and do what they can to make other people feel good about working with you, the business person. It makes them feel like they made the right choice.
A business person who gets it can admit their mistakes. In fact they always admit their mistakes and will try to rectify them…..even if they have to lose a buck or a bit of their pride. In reality, the buck may be lost but the pride won’t be because they have just earned the loyalty of a customer for life. You give and people will give back….its really simple actually.
I’ve been writing about business people who get it mostly but read it again….and again….and see how it pertains to people who get it personally and socially. There really is no difference. People who get it make others happy and in turn make others want to do the same. I have actually seen that…..I mean it! OK…..its just something to think about.
I won’t get into people who don’t get it because its much more difficult to list all you can do wrong. Wait….what did I just say? I guess what I mean is that the list of things to do to show that you get it is not that extensive while there are so many things you can do to show you don’t. Does that make sense???
I hope it does because I am not going to write anymore.
Until the next time…..a business post is in order.

Home BusinessWell I Think I Found It
Filed Under Home Business | Posted on June 16, 2009
Ok. I am slowly but surely getting my mojo back…..did I say that??? That is either very cool via Jim Morrison (The Doors) or very nerdy via me…or anyone else who would write that.
The point is I have been investigating some companies, especially through the help of some friends and think I have found a couple. Today I’m going to start with Joint Venture Group. There is a one time fee of about $98 and essentially what they do is enroll you in several…well actually more than that….top class companies that are established and doing well. JVG seeks out reputable companies to place its members in.
I’ll get back to the companies in a minute. Now get this….yeah…it seems odd that you pay a one time fee and can be enrolled in several companies and not have to pay anymore. Well guess what y’all….they figured out how to do that. Once you have at least one person under you then they place you in the different companies, one at a time, and start using your commissions (which they reserve) to pay for your autoships in the various programs. I know, it sounds complicated and it is to some extent but apparently they have it all worked out.
I should mention that this is not a passive income program You need people under you to make this work. There is a forced matrix as well so you bring in some and some get passed onto you. After speaking with a business friend of mine, he told me that many people have brought something like 20 people or so personal sign ups and have downlines in the hundreds at this point. That is the way to go.
I am going to give you some call info here….this is from a friend of mine….who posted on the ASA forum. Check out the forum at http://www.asamonitor.com/forum
More and more impressed each day

Seriously my friends…I think it is totally worth taking a look! I wouldn’t promote it at this point because I don’t have to in all honesty unless I didn’t think this was the real deal. I have some really good friends who I totally trust who have been in this business as well and I know they would not steer me in the wrong direction.
I’m good with all the passive stuff but I love doing this and helping people make a difference in their lives. I’ll be getting back to posting on how to market as well and would love to help out if any of you want to learn the basics.
OK now…check out my JVG link here.
So many of you have been emailing lately and I appreciate that so much. Here is my email address again anndcny@gmail.com
I love hearing from all of you. Next update will be very soon….one other program to promote that I am very happy about!
Until the next time,

I know I am doing the right thing now. If you have been reading this blog at all you know I have been getting more into passive income programs and finding that it can really be a life saver. That is not to say that I won’t be promoting a few well designed and structured MLM’s where the average person can find success. I will be doing that with a few namely OPL (Operation Promised Land) and Iggly Biggly ($20 and sells flip flops)! More on those this week.
I’m writing this because I received an email from someone who joined a couple of my passive income programs and essentially she wrote to thank me because her future seems so much brighter…..and guess what….that is what its all about. I will only tell people about 2 or 3 programs which have enabled me to work from home and that is the reason I do it. There are so many people out there who will sell you anything without any regards for people signing up and then losing money. I mean you have to have a conscience.
The best part is that you can really help people change their financial futures with some of these programs and if you do have the knowledge of this business….and the contacts frankly…you can truly make a difference in other people’s lives. It’s a great feeling and is my newest mission now.
Loving every minute of it! If you want to know about some of these programs I will be happy to tell you….but you have to email me at anndcny@gmail.com
I’ll explain everything in the email!!!
Until the next time,

Home BusinessThere Really Are People You Can Trust In This Business
Filed Under Home Business | Posted on April 18, 2009
Believe me when I say it, it is true. This is not a marketing/business type of post. It’s more for people who are skeptical. Heck, I don’t even have any key word phrases in mind (which I often do so my posts are spidered by the search engines). I just want to make a point to people who are too nervous about doing any business online or who are afraid that every marketer is out for themselves and has no problem giving them a line of BS.
I’m telling you because I know. Surely, it is very easy to be taken by someone who is good at what they do and don’t have a single good intention. I’ve been taken by a few of those people but have learned from my mistakes. The key words here are learn from mistakes….get that….learn….do not repeat!!!
How do you know someone can be or is in fact trustworthy? Well, that is really a loaded question because you can have great friends, family members, boyfriends or girlfriends who turn out not to be trustworthy at all. Let’s just keep it in this context.
Can you call that person and speak to them? Personally, I think that is huge. Many people who I have in my downlines in different programs have spoken to me first. Not just by phone but via skype or some regular sort of contact. I guess I’m using “spoken” loosely. You need to be able to have contact with that person and know they are willing to help. Otherwise…..well….you are on your own.
Can they give you some realistic and what seems to be honest observations and experiences with the company they are promoting? This is also huge. As a regular reader and poster on forums, I can totally see who is only posting about what is good and giving the readers the idea that it’s always that way. Oh boy, that is a huge red flag and I can list the programs and promoters right here but I will not. You can always email me to find out though.
The last thing I want to mention (for this post at least) is the intuition factor. It’s totally important to be on your toes and have all your senses extremely active when trying to get to know and get a sense of people online. Sincerity can be difficult to judge but its not at all impossible. You know it when you see it and hear it. If something rubs you the wrong way then go with that feeling. If something draws you to that person then there may be more there. You in fact may be correct.
Come on, think about it, you are in cyberspace and hopefully you are not a teenager. Look into these people and check them out like you would if you were meeting a new friend, business associate, date, whatever. You have to use all your senses and you will be surprised at what you can find out about someone….even if you may never actually meet them.
You can gain a life long friend and associate and have a very mutually beneficial relationship in this very strange but almost commonplace online world. It’s totally possible to meet people in this business that you can trust…..I promise you that…..I have and I’m extremely thankful!
Until the next time…..
Laura
Home BusinessWhat Inspires You

Though I am just really getting back into marketing again, it took me awhile to figure out what knocked the wind out of my sails for the past few months. I really enjoyed marketing and especially enjoyed the relationships I cultivated over the past year or so. No kidding, I know that I have made some sincere lifetime friendships and have have really helped people learn more about marketing and have even been able to help some people financially. That is an awesome feeling and that is one of the aspects of marketing that really inspires me. I won’t mention any names but they know who they are….thanks to all of you.
Financial freedom has begun to inspire me. There is nothing like knowing you are safe and have something to fall back on. I cannot emphasize enough how these passive income programs can provide this for you. I mean, come on, I was able to quit my job…..who does that during these times? Well, I do of course!
I am mostly inspired by people though. The past year and especially the past few months have been quite a ride. Many of you know the story so I won’t go there. I have been really lucky though through my passive income programs to meet and truly get to know some amazing people. They inspire me. I feel like I have actual business partners now and I have people who I can call who give me ideas, people who ask me questions and people who I truly trust. That is so darn inspirational.
Since many of these programs are private, I prefer not to discuss them in this public way. Please do not hesitate to email me at anndcny@gmail.com or just leave a comment and I can always get back to you. Hey, I’m here to help after all!
Until the next time,

Home Business passive income programsStarting Anew Again
Filed Under Home Business | Posted on April 5, 2009
Wow…it has been such a long time. Talk about life lessons and changes (typically my favorite posts to write), other than internet home business ideas of course. What a great thing it is to be a grown up with choices. I have them and have been making them….hopefully wise ones but we do not really know….ever I think. That is not so right, you do know when they are wise and not so wise, when something is revealed that answers that question.
Enough of that nonsense. I have been blessed with choices. I am now working from home and couldn’t be happier about that option that was handed to me literally. Keep in mind that I did not work for that option. I keep that in mind all the time. It was a blessing. Thank you Mom.
I have gone through a very turbulent period as of late trying to make some decisions about the whole working from home process. I have researched internet businesses, joined some, bypassed some, stayed, left and made and lost some money. I think anyone who has researched these opportunities would have had these same experiences as well.
The best part is all I have learned…and I have learned a lot! You absolutely have to acknowledge that you will not always make the best decisions at first. There is no way you can do it right the first time. But then you take some steps to find out what you did wrong or what you can do to better your chances.
I am not down at all on affiliate programs, but I just want to find the right ones to promote. In these turbulent times, people are not so willing to give up their hard earned money and rightfully so. You absolutely have to talk to people again and again. Find people you can trust and literally call them if they give you that access. It is imperative. Then maybe go for it.
Truthfully, and I mean this sincerely, the passive investment programs/opportunities are the major way to go….at least for now. These programs have allowed me to quit my job/career and live comfortably. So much for the mainstream……say goodbye to that. There are other ways that we can exist and really live. It’s actually a blast to talk to people who do this for a living and become part of this group. It has opened up such a huge realm of possibilities. The people are really cool too!! No kidding.
There really is a way to start anew on the internet even in these tough economic times. What am I saying? You can start anew whether its on the internet or just in your life in general. I am going to go all out and say embrace new things, step out of the box and do something you may not normally do (within reason and the law of course)!
Start anew again, again and again until it works. That is what I am doing!!
Until the next time,
Laura
Just a comical post in general…….don’t take anything I said too seriously.
Home Business internet home businessMaking Connections-It Really Is Who You Know
Filed Under life lessons, Home Business | Posted on February 6, 2009
Making friends and business connections on the internet through my businesses has been invaluable to me. With no exaggeration, I have been introduced to opportunities that I never would have unless I knew these people and established a business/trusting relationship.
I will gloss over the opportunities for a moment even though they have been the main reason why I have been able to quit my job and work from home.
It is more about establishing these relationships that needs to be addressed because not everyone knows how to do it. I’ve either “met” these people through programs I have promoted or have been involved in, through being on a list where I made contact or through forums. Initially, I made contact because I saw someone was successful and wanted to learn more or had people who were in my downlines or uplines that I wanted to get to know better.
It also helped that I have a sincere desire to help out and I believe people saw that sincerity….for the most part! I guess that is the teacher in me. When you sincerely approach people to give help or ask for help, it is amazing what you can see in return. Literally, opportunities fall in your lap because you just don’t meet that many people online (and I am not talking about dating) that are sincere and not looking to take your money.
I have met so many people with the right intentions but that “so many” to me is truly a small percentage and frankly, I’ve noticed, many of them know each other and are involved in and have been invited into some of these amazing and lucrative ventures. Just to be clear, I am not really talking about affiliate marketing and MLM.
To have a presence so that people are drawn to you and will trust you is not that difficult especially when you post on forums. You do not have to be a great writer or a fluent English speaker for that matter. It is what you say or at least what you are trying to say that matters. People will pick up on it.
This relates to the title of my post because now that I have established some sort of internet presence, I have made some very valuable friendships with people who are much more on the “inside” than I am and who are very experienced marketers and business people. I marvel at the small world that I am becoming a part of. This has been quite a revelation that I am now reaping the benefits and participating in opportunities that have only come to me for this reason alone.
I’ll make the explanation of these opportunites brief. They relate to online and offline investments. It’s not all about the Dow and NASDAQ you know….in fact it is far from it. There is a whole world of forex and opportunities that people of means know about and can do that are not always open to the little guy….unless you know someone of course (the whole point of this post).
In the end, I really just want to say that there is a way to present yourself that will open doors and opportunities that you may never have dreamed of. Yes, it is who you know but is more importantly, who you are.
Until the next time,
Laura
Home Business life lessonsLiberty Health Net-A Program Review
Filed Under internet home business, home based business, Home Business | Posted on January 4, 2009
Just try to research home based business opportunities, making money online, internet home business or any configuration of those terms and you will find endless pages of information and often hype about thousands of home based business opportunities. I have been in a few and want to review Liberty Health Net because of its sustainability and track record.
Liberty Health Net was incorporated in February of 2001 and started shipping products in June of that year. Jim Price is the owner and Shelley Feree, a former nurse is the company President. The founder was looking for a more realistic and “doable” way for people to make an honest income from home with a respectable online company. Apparently the search was not going in the direction they wanted and instead chose to start a company of their own which became Liberty Health Net.
Liberty Health Net is often termed “the people’s company” because of the attention given to its affiliates and customers. Jim Price was looking to start something that would be affordable for most everyone and would eventually get people to the point where they could make an income that would either supplement their current income or replace it.
The payplan was key to bringing people into LHN. The founders wanted a payplan that is not based on group volume but rather on percentages from a 4×5 forced matrix. Essentially that means that a partner can make commissions from someone they did not personally sponsor.
Jim Price came up with a payplan that would sustain the newbie to marketing as well as the expert marketer. Here is a brief summary of the payplan. With LHN, distributors are paid a 60% commission on their personal referral’s first order. That can be anywhere from $18 to $60. After that, commissions are paid to the upline depending on where the person is in their matrix.
The commissions are paid through 5 levels. Level 1 pays 5%, Level 2 pays 10%, Level 3 pays 10%, Level 4 pays 40% and Level 5 pays 10%. A full matrix is attainable but I wouldn’t speak in those terms until one is committed to the program and ready to work it for the long term. As an internet marketer, it is best to set some smaller more attainable goals and when those are realized you shoot for the stars.
Setting aside the payment plan, LHN does provide a variety of websites and a very sophisticated backoffice that includes training and a myriad of free and paid resources to market your business. There is a question and answer forum as well for all members to bounce off ideas, ask questions and learn from each other.
The essence and ideas behind Liberty Health Net are very solid and well planned. It has been around for nearly 8 years and in the internet marketplace, that can be considered to be a well established company.
Check out their site here.

Filed Under life lessons, blogging, Home Business | Posted on January 1, 2009
Sometimes I absolutely cannot believe that I have come out of this one relatively unscathed and just a few pounds heavier than when I started. Ok…more than a few pounds…and yeah…I’m talking about 2008. Believe me, I know what is happening all around me and even though this year has been a very emotional one for me, I feel blessed given the enormity of the fall out from the financial crisis and then the Bernie Madoff scam. My heart goes out to anyone who was affected by this disaster and one can only hope that people will be able to pick up the scattered pieces.
I want to write about some of the major personal events in 2008 so that I can begin 2009 with a fresh start. So here it goes. I started off the year with a bang because I had been blogging for a very short time and I was named one of the top women bloggers to watch in 2008. That was so exciting because I really didn’t know what I was doing at all and frankly I didn’t even know I could write or even like to write. In terms of my business I was doing pretty well and I was chosen to moderate on a forum by a top internet marketer whose business was booming. Pretty awesome stuff.
I signed up for a program called RIOY (Retire In One Year) and was in profit in just a few weeks….even more awesome. I was really taking to this and enjoying every minute. The reality of my job was sinking in though and thus the roller coaster of emotions from the highs of my home business to the lows of my career.
Normally, I didn’t have major lows regarding my career because I had been lucky enough to work in top schools as a math teacher for most of my career. Then came my job last year. What an absolute mess. I liked the idea of working with underpriviledged kids but this was something else. The incompetence was rampant and the place was being run by the kids. Needless to say, this made me work much harder on my home business in order to get out. A place like that can really drain you of all passion and energy. It is just too difficult to watch kids who have little hope of succeeding in life in the first place have all those chances taken away from them because they are placed in the hands of people who should not be anywhere near an educational institution.
OK, I got through the school year, barely, and started to widen my network of people who are experienced internet marketers. This is always a good thing. I would go up and down on the time I spent learning though but I was still lucky enough to be doing fairly well. I made some mistakes with programs and lost a little bit of money but for the most part I was still ahead. RIOY had its ups and downs and I have written about that in many posts….lots of changes….too many.
The summer was relatively uneventful, but definitely peaceful. Exactly what I needed. I didn’t even want to think of the past school year. In August I received a phone call from a guy exactly a year to the date that I last saw him. There went my peace. He and I had spent the last 4 years together….let’s just say on and off and on and off. Off was better.
It’s funny because I am such a strong woman in so many ways but I didn’t always seem that way when I was with him. What is even more strange was he just was not worth the trouble at all and I didn’t even see it. OK….maybe I didn’t want to. I do now though and I won’t even go into details about all the truths that I found out. Nothing like wearing blinders!
About a week later my mom and my sister came up to visit me which was planned at the last minute. We had a great time and all of us were really happy to have the short time together…you know…just the girls. We didn’t know how lucky we were because this was the last time that would happen.
Literally two weeks later my mom was diagnosed in the final stages of pancreatic cancer and would not be with us much longer…about 3 weeks to be exact. I wrote about her in a post called “A Tribute To A Woman.” It was my way of saying goodbye.
This was pretty life changing and it opened my eyes to what I was doing with my life. What the hell was I doing??? The school year had begun and was run by a new and even more incompetent administration. If I wrote about what I saw in the hallways on a daily basis I promise you would not believe me. Let’s just say you would hope and pray that you would never have a child that you would have to send to a school like this. It was just more than I was able to bear given the circumanstances.
The RIOY business fell through. I never would have believed it but so many things happened to get in the way and Karl Green was not able to sustain the program. The companies we promoted are still there and I will continue to work with them but it was a real shame for those who lost money. They will be paid back but it will be over time. There was nothing I can say to make it better for anyone. My heart was broken.
I quit teaching because I could not do it anymore…that was in December. I will be working from home….starting…..now! I have not even begun to organize and work out a real plan. I do have money coming in from passive income and affiliate programs. Actually I have a lot of money coming in and I will be off to a good start. Am I worried about the future? Believe it or not…..no. I have a really good feeling about being my own boss and starting a new in a second career. In my pajamas of course.
Here’s too a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
Until the next time,
Laura
