Are you looking to start a home business, specifically on the internet? Did you research home businesses, money making ideas, making money on the internet, and countless other key words and phrases? I did. I also decided that I was going to go for it and joined the Plug In Profit Site Program, started by Stone Evans.
I came into this with a certain perception of what a home business would be like. On every traffic exchange you will find dozens of programs with lots of promises of immediate wealth and you will never have to invest a dime. This article is dedicated to someone who joined a program and quit after a week because they did not automatically have a downline and didn’t see the money roll in literally after 7 days. This person joined one of my programs.
Myth 1 Wealth and success does not happen in a week and probably won’t happen in a month or even 2 or 6 months. It is not true and any program that promises you that is preying upon our weakness of tending to want immediate gratification.
Myth 2 It only takes about 30 minutes a day to make thousands of dollars a week. There is no possible way that one can become an established force on the internet and only spend 30 minutes a day. You are recognized on the search engines because you are constantly bringing in new content and that is what the search engines are looking for. How can you provide new and substantial content without research and learning about how the internet works? You do have to do your research and that takes time.
Myth 3 It will never cost you anything to make thousands of dollars. You can get started on a limited budget and become a presence by submitting articles, starting a blog, and use free traffic exchanges. The cost of your time may be greatly increased though if you take some short cuts.
This topic deserves a little more attention because you can pick and choose ways to spend money intelligently. If you like to write, you can write articles and have them submitted to many ezines by www.submityourarticle.com. You may want to have someone professionally upgrade your website or blog. You may want to have someone write articles for you You will have to upgrade in a program you are affiliated with in order to earn commissions. These are just facts of the business.
So now on to some facts.
Fact 1 You can make money and eventually after hard work, commitment and time you can do this as your full time profession. If you really work and consider this your calling, you can make millions, or at least hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Fact 2 It is very possible to make a few thousand dollars extra income monthly with less time dedication. You still have to establish yourself as a presence on the internet though, and that does not happen overnight.
Fact 3 It is very difficult to do it alone. You need to become an affiliate in a program where you can find real support. That is not easy but it is possible. If I didn’t have the personal support that I had I would not be writing this article at this moment.
So here are some myths and facts that I learned. Ask yourself are you ready to do this and can you really commit? Then come back here for more.

Because of the high competition and increasingly growing market on the internet, it is fairly easy to fail online. But before you go giving up right away, there are some things you can avoid when trying to make money on the internet. Here are 6 things to avoid when trying to make money on the internet.
1. Not researching the market
It is critical that you take the time to research the market extensively. If you want to make money online, you have to know your market and which direction they are heading. Since the internet changes constantly, research will allow you to know what people are looking for.
2. Not promoting the business
50% of your work time should be devoted to promoting your business. It is impossible to make money on the internet if you have no traffic flow whatsoever. It really does not matter how you market your business just as long as it is generating traffic for you and your site.
3. Poor time management
Time management is one of the most difficult things for many that are new to the internet. You are given a lot of freedom that is not available with other professions. It is up to you to use your time wisely and get your work done.
4. Customer service
Despite the fact that you probably will not ever see any of your customers or talk to them, it is vital that you take the time to contact all of your customers immediately. After every sale you make, you should send an email or have an automatic email sent out immediately. Quality customer service can make you a lot of money on the internet because after all, it is the customers that are making you rich.
5. Spending too much
In order to make money on the internet, you cannot spend it all away right in the beginning. It can become expensive depending on the business you are starting up, but there are a lot of expenses you can get around. Until you have a steady income coming in, manage your budget carefully.
6. Passivity
There is no room for passivity on the internet. There are millions of people online and thousands of competitors. To ensure that people come to you over your competitors, you have to be aggressive and confident with all of the moves you make.
While I did mention that it is fairly easy to fail above, you also have to be confident and know that you will succeed. Avoiding these things will help you make money on the internet and set you up for success.
