The Berry Tree is quickly becoming a powerful force among the internet community. The company is growing by about 50% a month with all the advertising provided by Horizons Marketing. I absolutely love the company and I feel it is a fairly easy product to promote along with the new Berry Tree Free Trial.
Since I came into the program with some knowledge of marketing from being a member of the Plug In Profit Site program, I have had an advantage over many new members who would actually like to promote The Berry Tree and make money faster.
I have spoken to some of my affiliates and the main question that has come up is how do I start, where do I begin to promote The Berry Tree? It is a great question, but cannot be answered with just one phone call or a couple of emails. There is a real learning curve involved, though its a great experience once you feel more comfortable with the process.
I would like to go through some of the most important and free steps in getting your site seen on the internet, which include SEO (search engine optimization), blogging and writing articles for submission.
Since I have seen a real boost in Berry Tree interest, I think this would be a great way to start off the new year.

I wanted to post this interview by a well known Plug In Profit Site member, Doug Gorman. You can read all Doug’s posts and interviews at http://faithinonlinebusiness.blogspot.com. This time he interviewed one of the original Plug In Profit Site members, Jeff Schuman. I’ll let Doug tell you the rest, but I would like to add that Jeff is truly one of the most helpful members of the Plug In Profit Site community and also one of the most successful. This is an awesome interview.
Please tell us more about yourself.“My name is Jeff Schuman. I am the owner of Team-Schuman.com. My website started out as a website Stone built for me and I have developed it into my own liking since then. I am currently on page one of Google for over 1400 keyword phrases and growing. Words like make money now, make money quick, make money at home, and so on. If I had to buy Google AdWords for all of the traffic this brings me it would cost me over $50K a month.”
You are one of the original Plug-In Profit Site members. I think I saw you say that you are #4 !? How has PIPS evolved since it’s initiation?
“PIPS is better organized, has better programs, and offers better back end training. Stone has done a great job developing it into what it is today.”
Since the beginning of PIPS, what has been a main attribute that have caused people to fail with this business?
“Most people fail online with PIPS, and with Internet marketing in general, because they do not have the skills and give up before they ever learn them. Internet marketing is hard and it is competitive. It takes time and money. What you lack in one, you have to invest more of in the other. I do not think people really understand how much traffic it takes to convert some of it into newsletter subscribers, buyers, PIPS members, etc.”
Tell me about SEO. When I first heard that term, I thought it was a new car. Please give an overview of what SEO is.
“I have been working on this for about 3 years now. To me it all starts at the top of the page and ends on the very bottom. You can go look at a page of mine and you will see how simple this really is….

I am targeting the phrase home based business for women. You can see how I title the page, how I bold and italicize the keyword phrase, and even how I end the bottom of the page. If you view the source code you can see how I set up the meta tags. If you Google search home based business for women I should be on page #1. I am having the same results doing this with blogging now as well.”
How do people succeed using SEO?
“Choose long tail phrases with less competition, make your page content relevant to the keyword and then do this over and over until you are getting the traffic you want. Blogging works great for this if you have a WordPress blog.”
What is the best way to utilize article marketing?
“Combine submit your articles and blogging. This gets your unique articles in hundreds of article directories, as well as social directories. You can hire us to do it for you if you do not know how to do it!”
Can someone who is not good at writing still be efficient with article marketing?
“Rewriting Private Label Rights articles is good. We just started a program called “Hands Off Article Marketing”, where we write and submit for people who cannot do it themselves for some reason. Either you or someone in your company is going to be doing alot of writing on the Internet anyway. If not article marketing and email marketing, you will be doing pay per click ads and traffic exchanges. You have to get traffic somewhere.”
What is the first thing you would tell a new member to do “out of the gate?”
“Find one form of marketing you like and master it. Then add to it. Back links are the key to getting traffic. I like traffic exchanges right now and did not do them for my first 5 years. You will always keep learning, but with no traffic you make no money so you have to master at least one form of getting it.”
What do you see for the future of PIPS and what would you like to see?
“PIPS will always be good because it has a never ending supply of leads. I would like to see people be able to choose a customized website that relates to a theme they have a passion for. I was lucky because I love sales and marketing and Internet marketing in general appeals to me. Many people do not care about the programs in PIPS. They love cooking, gardening, sports, cars, or whatever. They have a better chance of succeeding if they can promote products and blog on what they enjoy. This is at least fun when you are not making money.
I was able to take my one website and build it into a full time home business and I owe my start to PIPS. Thanks to Stone, Pat, and all of the good people in the Plug-In Profit Site.“

Patricia “Pat” Brucoli (also know as the3rdparty) is a Plug-In Profit Site answer machine. She runs the help desk, moderates the forum, gets PIPS member set-up to start their venture, and supports them throughout the journey. She juggles many issues and is the best at what she does. What I admire about Pat is that she is very caring and really wants all Plug-In Profit Site members to succeed. I am grateful to be able to call Pat my go to person, confidant, my PIPS encyclopedia, and my friend. She is a wonderful person who has helped me and I know many, many others in such a great way.
Tell us a little bit about yourself please.
I have been a member of PIPS since August of 2004 and have been the Member Support Director and PIPS Forum Moderator since February of 2006. Prior to working from home on the Internet I had been in corporate banking information services for over 15 years.
How did you come across the Plug-In Profit Site?
When I first started pursuing Internet marketing, I found Traffic Swarm. They had a special offer to read a sales page and answer a question to prove you read it, to earn free traffic credits. I read it and was mesmerized by how compellingly it was written and couldn’t wait to join the program. You guessed it, it was written by Stone Evans!
What has your overall experience been with PIPS?
It is a continual learning experience. Prior to finding PIPS I had a lot of information that I had no idea what to do with, or how to fit it all together. I had both those common newbie maladies, information overload, and paralysis by analysis. The way that the PIPS program is put together to include many elements and how they work together is condusive to being able to take action immediately.
It is noteworthy to mention that the sense of community and support that is created by the member support forum is what kept me going through the times when I couldn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel - except through others. The sense of not being alone in an unknown territory really encouraged me.
How did you come to meet and work with Stone?
Stone had just written Dotcomology and asked for volunteers to proof-read it. I was one who volunteered and through our back and forth communications with regard to this, we began to have a dialogue. I mentioned to him another facet of my business, which was virtual assistance, including copy writing and editing, and asked him if he could refer anyone who needed help to me in the future.
I was really surprised when he said, “NO” (deep gasp), “…because PIPS needs you” (exhale). So I put together a proposal and before I knew it I had my first major client. PIPS had never had an official help desk and I guess he could see the time had come!
I can tell you he is a wonderful person to work for. I think we are a great team. He sees the big picture (visionary) and I am a detail oriented operations person. I have always been ‘self-supervised’ and he pretty much trusts me to figure most things out on my own. If I get into a dilemma, we will talk it out and come up with a solution.
How do you keep up with all of the duties you perform with PIPS, the forum, etc?
In chunks. In my first year online I was obsessed and addicted. I was spending 12-15 hours a day online 7 days a week, and doing nothing but spinning my wheels. We are human and we need to rest. Taking even an hour off from the computer really helps me to organize my thoughts, rest my eyes, and feel ready to roll again.
I know what I have to get done everyday and even if it means I have to work until 10pm, I take frequent breaks throughout the day. I really get much more done, more accurately this way, than staying glued to the computer. I am also now trying to take a whole day off where I don’t do anything on the computer at all. I am not sure that this is working for me though because there is too much stress catching up when things pile up for 24 hours.
What is one thing that you would like to see from pipsters that has been a lacking element?
I would say the majority come with an attitude that as soon as the site goes up, the money pours in. When they realize that it requires that they learn how to promote their business and that it is going to take some time (as any new business does) they become disenchanted. These are the ones who quit before giving it a chance. Instead of appreciation for all that they have been given to start with, they have a sense of entitlement. They need to know there is no free lunch. So what is lacking? Thinking realistically. Determination. Faith.
What would tell all newbies to do first when getting started to keep them motivated and not get discouraged?
First get organized. Make folders both on and offline for each program or facet. Have one sheet of paper with all their IDs and passwords. Write down a plan that includes small, achievable goals, and detail the actions necessary to reach those goals. Set a budget. Going forward to Square One: Focus only on the training and when it is completed keep on learning and discovering new things. Refuse to allow yourself to get discouraged or skeptical. It is not only counter-productive, it can be the murder of your dream.
What do you see for the future of PIPS?
As they say ‘there is nothing constant except change’. I can see that it has evolved over time by going with the flow. Stone is constantly testing and tweaking and I feel that he is never going to stop adding more and more value for people. I am hoping that as we progress, we will keep up with the changes on the technical side, and incorporate more ‘Web2.0’ enhancements.

A Successful Home Business Takes More Than 10 Minutes A Day

When I started researching home business opportunities, I must have seen at least 100 ads for businesses that were free to join, you can make $1000 a week and you did not have to give more than 10 to 30 minutes a day. Wow. Why isn’t everyone doing that? The answer is pretty simple. It doesn’t work that way, especially in the beginning.
You can join a program for free. Sign up for all the free home business programs that you can. Unless you upgrade in that program (not free) you cannot earn commissions. That is a fact. You can promote the website and potentially get referrals, but commissions will not happen for you.
You do have to promote. There is too much competition out there to just sit back and hope the company will promote for you. Most affiliate programs count on the fact that you will promote your website. Do not be fooled if a home business program says that you don’t have to do anything and will make money instantly. An aside to that is there are a few legitimate businesses that are structuring their payouts so that you do not have to promote a website yourself (like the Berry Tree ), but they also do not say it will happen overnight. With the Berry Tree, they do tell you it will take two years and then you will have a guaranteed $1333 payout a month.
You have to spend some money. Unless you have endless amounts of time, you need to spend some money on ways to optimize your website, buying credits on traffic exchanges, or having your articles submitted for you. You can make decisions about where you want to spend your money, but if you want to find success with your home business in a timely manner, some money should be spent.
You have to read about and listen to successful people. I learned about all of this through reading ebooks and posting and reading forums. I was introduced to all these aspects of starting a home business, joining affiliate programs and internet marketing through the Plug In Profit Site. I spoke to and wrote to people who have found major success in this business and it was clear what I had to do.
I truly believe anyone can do this. You have to go into it with a realistic mindset and set goals. It will not happen overnight and don’t plan on making extra money for the holidays if you sign up for a home business program today. Treat it like a real business and you will find your way.

Interview with Laura Licata
Laura Licata is one of the Plug-In Profit Site’s newer members. I wanted to interview Laura because she has great determination as an initiative. She is constantly in the forum contributing quite often and I wanted to show other new members that you need this “drive” to find the success we all seek.Laura, please tell us about yourself.
“A little about me. I am originally from Miami and have settled in Westchester county in New York. I joined the Peace Corps after college and lived in Gabon in Central Africa. I worked in Egypt and Israel as well as a math teacher in American Schools. I have had jobs working on movie sets, energy marketing companies, and of course teaching math.
I recently left a well-paying position (nearly $100,000) in the Westchester school system (we are the highest paid teachers in the country) because I wanted to work with children who didn’t have everything they could possibly want. I found a position working with “at-risk” kids who have had serious family, drug, abuse, etc. issues. I love the job, but I took a major pay cut. That is why I joined PIPS. I wanted to find a way to supplement the earnings I lost and after much research, I found PIPS.
My favorite part of the PIPS program is the training and the network on the Warrior Forum. I know that if I have a question, it will be answered on the forum. I knew absolutely nothing 2 months ago and I noticed today that my blog was on page 1 if you Google “plug in profit site business.” I almost fell over. I never even had a blog and had no idea what Internet marketing was. So hopefully I will become one of the ’success stories’ that you have written about.”
Why choose the Plug-In Profit Site other than something else?
“I chose PIPS because it seemed to be a legitimate program and not a get rich quick scheme. I researched programs on the Internet for months and looked at scam and ripoff reports and didn’t find anything negative like I had read about so many other programs.”
What has been your biggest challenge and what motivates you?
“Since I was completely new to all of this, my biggest challenge was absorbing all the new information and acting on it. I still have to go back to the 30-day program to look things up and each time I find something else I can do. Also, I sometimes find it difficult to decide where and what I should spend my money on in order to keep forging ahead.
My motivation is my strong desire to succeed. I left a very well paying job because I was miserable and took a lesser paying job that makes me happier and is much more rewarding. I wanted to supplement my income to make up for the loss I took and I thought this would be a great way to do it.”
What is the most important aspect you have learned so far with the program?
“The most important aspect I have learned so far is to not give up and keep trying harder. There is always a little more you can do to learn something new or work on a skill that needs tweaking. I’m really learning how to write better articles and I can see the difference from my first articles to the ones I write now. I’ve also become much more creative. Another aspect of this that I have learned is to utilize the knowledge of others in this business. It is readily available at PIPS and everyone is more than willing to help.”

Another Plus For The Plug In Profit Site

There are literally millions of people seeking ways to make money online. There are almost that many programs available to those people as well. With each day that I am on the internet, I find something new. I have signed up for a few just for fun (and the money of course) that were inexpensive because I know how to promote and grow a business now. I learned that through the Plug In Profit Program. SFI is one of the programs affiliated with the Plug in Profit Site that should get some attention.
Now to SFI (Strong Futures International). SFI is a division of Carson Services which was founded in 1985 and has been growing strong ever since. It is one of the “multiple streams of income” affiliated with the Plug In Profit Site. This may be one of the most attractive programs online because it is absolutely free to join and anyone can learn much about marketing and starting a home business.
